Amanda Fischer

Amanda serves in one of the least-reached regions of Mexico, with less than 1% believers. She is currently in the phase of establishing herself in her new community, supporting a project in the "linguistics foundations" phase, and preparing to begin learning the local language. Amanda is grateful for God's preparation in her life so that she can provide essential support that moves the project towards beginning the translation phase!

Amanda’s interest in serving in cross-cultural missions began as a teenager, but she wasn’t sure what her role might be. When her family took a field trip to the Wycliffe center in Orlando, she was amazed to learn that so many people around the world did not yet have access to God’s Word in a language they could clearly understand. It moved her heart to realize that while she had access to hundreds of English versions of the complete Bible, hundreds of millions of people did not have even one translation!

Through prayerfully considering her future, Amanda sensed God’s call to train as a linguist to support Bible translation. As the people she serves in Mexico receive God’s Word in a way that speaks to them intimately, their lives will be transformed through God’s redemption and restoration.
