Bill & Ann met and married in Dallas, TX in 1983, then completed their MAs in Linguistics at UT Arlington, right at the time their first child (Sara) was born (May, 1986). Then in October, 1986 they moved to live and work among the Guaymí/Ngäbe in western Panamá. Their other two children were born during their first years there (Katie, 1989, and Andrew, 1992). By God's grace, the Guaymí/Ngäbe New Testament was dedicated in January, 2005.
From Panamá, Bill served many years as the Americas Area Translation Consultant Coordinator and checked translations in Paraguay and Guatemala. Concurrently, he completed his research PhD in Biblical Hebrew from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa in 2017.
In May, 2018, Bill & Ann moved to Charlotte, NC to be near their daughter Katie and her growing family.
Bill has been the Director of the Global Consultant Pool for the past several years for the purpose of mentoring translation consultants-in-training. He continues checking translations in Mexico and Panama.
Checks should be accompanied with a separate note stating, “Preference for the Wycliffe ministry of Bill & Ann Bivin, Ministry Account #221452”.

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.
This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
