THE WYCLIFFE MINISTRY OF

Dan & Lucia Brubaker

Dan & Lucia Brubaker

When Dan and Lucia Brubaker first settled into a Malian village as Wycliffe Bible Translators, a Tonka* man told them, “Life is misery.” Though the Tonka do face many hardships, we praise God that He enabled Dan and Lucia to help make available the New Testament and most of the Old Testament in the heart language of the Tonka people. This brings joy and hope to those who read or listen to it. One such man, Baba* who read about the poor man in Luke 16, testifies, “God will take care of me like He did with the poor man. This gives me hope and encourages me.”

Lord willing, the Tonka Old Testament will be completed and the whole Tonka Bible published by about 2028. Besides translation work, Dan, as a language technology consultant/trainer, empowered many other Bible translators by teaching them to use available Bible translation and dictionary-making software. Lucia served mainly in an administrative capacity in the field’s Executive Committee and then as the HR Administrator.

At the end of March 2023, after more than 48 years of faithful service overseas, Dan and Lucia retired from active service with Wycliffe, and Dan is now a Wycliffe retired volunteer. The Brubakers have retained their Wycliffe membership. Therefore, their current financial partners may continue to send financial gifts to Wycliffe indicating that the gift is "preferenced for the retirement pension of Dan and Lucia Brubaker." Wycliffe will issue tax deductible receipts for these gifts.

We appreciate and covet your continued prayers to see the Tonka Old Testament through to completion, the entire Tonka Bible printed and dedicated, and for many Tonka's to grow in their Christian faith. Pray also for many more to put their faith in Jesus.

Wycliffe Ministry Budget

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.

This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
