Derwin and Wendy Penson have both been impacted by the Bible in positive and personal ways. And in their travels over the years they have encountered people who have touched their hearts and given them a desire to see every man, woman and child with access to the hope, love and joy found in the pages of the Bible. Wendy recalls spending a year in the Philippines and really coming to know and love people who had had a lot in common with her even though they had lived quite a different life from her own. Derwin has always had a heart for the “underdog” or people who may have seemed or felt less powerful, such as the marginalized people groups across the planet.
In recent years, the Pensons expanded their family to include a sibling group of 3 precious children. During this time of family bonding and healing, the Pensons are choosing to serve the worldwide Bible translation movement from the USA.
Derwin will be using his unique gifts to share the vision of Bible translation and inspire people to participate.
There are a number of ways you can partner with the Pensons in their Wycliffe ministry:
Prayer - (James 5:16b) Sign up to get their prayer letter.
Financial - (Philippians 4:16-19) Consider an ongoing gift either monthly, quarterly, annually, or as the Spirit leads.
Advocate - “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” - African Proverb.
Consider introducing the Pensons to your churches, family, friends, sororities/fraternities & social clubs.

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.
This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
