The Richards work in partnership with a local church denomination to translate God’s Word, songs, and liturgies into local languages and help people engage with God’s Word so that they can understand it and apply it to their lives. Jon is responsible for relating to the church and other local partners in the area, as well as supporting other Wycliffe team members. Stephanie works with a team of mother-tongue translators who translate Scripture and develop other faith-related materials in the local heart language. Jon and Stephanie long for people to experience God’s amazing love and awesome power in their lives. They have one son, Nathan, who is 14 years old.

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.
This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
