Kate works with minority language speakers in the southern Philippines to support their efforts to improve literacy and education within their own communities. It is her hope that through enhancing access to mother tongue education, people will be able to engage more meaningfully with Scripture in their heart language. Additionally, children will receive a higher quality education as a whole, which will lead to greater flourishing for them and their language communities.
She lived and worked in the Philippines from 2013-2015, then returned to the US in 2016 to marry Chris Schell. They are currently based in Jacksonville, Florida, where Kate works remotely with a team located in the Philippines and makes periodic trips to Asia.

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.
This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
