THE WYCLIFFE MINISTRY OF

Kendall & Renee Isaac

Kendall & Renee Isaac

Kendall and Renee Isaac have been working in Cameroon in various roles for over 15 years. These past few years Kendall has been helping several language groups, including Lefa, Swo, Bana, among others. Each of these language groups is at a different stage of Bible translation, but all have been seeking help in developing their languages. Working together with local speakers, often in workshop settings, Kendall has been guiding analysis of how words and sentences go together in order to improve accuracy and naturalness in translation. Renee has been teaching French in the MK elementary school and international middle/high school (where their boys attended).

The Isaacs returned to Cameroon last summer after a year of home assignment in the US. During that year, Kendall and Renee worked on expanding their Wycliffe ministry team, seeking additional prayer and financial partners and also supported their boys in their schooling. Ben, the oldest, started his first year of college at Mississippi State University.

Now back in Cameroon (without Ben this time), the Isaacs have gotten back into their overseas ministries. Renee has resumed teaching French at the international school. Kendall has returned to linguistic work, with the goal of seeing Cameroonians using a deeper, conscious understanding of their own language to translate well and naturally, ultimately so that others in their community can be impacted by God's word in a language that speaks to them. One example of this was a workshop helping translators understand how their language expresses exhortations (from commands to various types of persuasion).

Wycliffe Ministry Budget

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.

This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
