What a privilege it is to walk alongside the Jesus followers among the Choctaws of Mississippi!
Laura Christel grew up in Mississippi and only learned of the presence of Choctaws in Mississippi when she attended Belhaven University. Some Choctaw preachers, in their language called Chihówa Annopa Toshóli – “Scripture Sharers” - had written Wycliffe asking for help with a Bible translation. Partnering with Wycliffe, these pastors began a translation and Scripture engagement program located in Choctaw, Mississippi.
Laura Christel serves with Wycliffe as Program Coordinator at the Choctaw Bible Translation Center. She is delighted to serve these Choctaw believers, looking forward to the day when every language, tribe and nation will worship together at the throne of God!
Laura Christel has a passion that every unique individual experiences life with God speaking directly to them in the language they understand best. She can't do it alone! We invite you to join Laura Christel's Wycliffe ministry team by becoming a prayer and financial partner.

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.
This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
