Rachel Ellison joined Wycliffe in August 2019, and she is excited to begin working in Nigeria. In the summer of 2017, she did an internship with Wycliffe in Nigeria. During her internship, she became aware of the great need for Bible translation there, as there are about 240 Nigerian languages still waiting for a translation project to begin. Rachel is passionate for people to be able to read God’s word in the language of their heart so that God will be worshiped by people from every tribe, tongue, and language.
Rachel’s first term in Nigeria will involve orientation and learning Hausa, one of the major trade languages, and then she’ll be assigned to an anchor project where she will focus on learning the language and culture of that people group while doing some linguistics and translation work.

Wycliffe Ministry Budget
Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.
This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
