Ray and Merle joined WBT in 1980 and have served in aviation and support roles. They served in Indonesia until 1993 when they began serving at the JAARS Center in Waxhaw, NC. Ray worked in aviation maintenance, most recently managing the engine overhaul shop and helping to evaluate and train new mechanics. Their support of those serving with Wycliffe was fundamental to the Bible translation task. As of the end of 2023 Ray and Merle have retired from Wycliffe but Ray plans to continue part time as a volunteer as he is able.
Pray for them through this life transition and that they would know God's leading in how best to continue to serve Him in their retirement years. For financial gifts, please state, “Preference for the Wycliffe retirement pension of Ray and Merle Brubaker.”

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.
This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
