Ruth went to Peru in 1978 with a two-year commitment and through that experience became convinced that Bible translation is an absolutely necessary work and worth giving her life to. She joined Wycliffe and served in Peru until 2010, working as secretary in the Director’s Office, first in the jungle linguistic center and then in Lima, the capital. She found it immensely rewarding to see God transform individuals and whole communities through having God’s Word in their mother tongue. Ruth then served 11 years on Wycliffe USA's Prayer Engagement team, mobilizing prayer for Bible translation projects nearing completion. She currently serves as an archiving assistant, reviewing documents important to Wycliffe's history. She counts it a joy and a privilege to have a part in giving God’s Word to those who do not yet have it.

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.
This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
