Stephen & Hye-Ju Kim

The Bible. Unreached people. Language. Muslim. Creative access country. Persecution. These are the words that best describe Stephen & Hannah’s work. They work to translate the Bible into the language of an unreached people group in Asia. Prior to their work, these people were 100% Muslim who were very antagonistic towards Christianity. After 30 years of building relationships, developing a writing system, and translating Scripture into the people’s own language, a handful of believers are beginning to gather at homes to read and listen the Word of God in their heart language. The New Testament has recently been printed and is being distributed slowly among the people, and the translation team is steadily working to translate the Old Testament.

Stephen is highly trained in linguistics and Biblical languages and is an experienced translation consultant. Hannah is an artist and illustrator. She uses her talents for literacy projects, producing reading materials and picture books for these people. As part of the translation process, Stephen has served as a translation consultant for many other projects and led workshops to train more consultants, and Hannah has helped to develop Scripture and literacy materials for multiple language groups.
