Steve & Kathryn served in Papua New Guinea 1991-2004 and helped the Yongkom people translate the New Testament and develop a literacy program. They also encouraged the people to be mature disciples of the Lord.
Since 2004, Steve works on a team doing Translator’s Notes, a verse-by-verse translation guide in ESL-friendly English. It explains the meaning of any difficult word, phrase or grammar in the verse and offers translation advice and examples. It also lays out any interpretation differences among English versions. Mother-tongue translators who know English as a second (or third) language can use Translator's Notes.
Steve also goes twice a year to Papua New Guinea for a month at a time. The Nalik translators and Steve have finished their NT and they dedicated it this year. The Nomad (officially: Levatbura Lamusong, but nobody uses that name; they prefer the shortened form of NOtsi-MADak, languages to either side) translators and Steve still have a few years to go to finish theirs.

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.
This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
