THE WYCLIFFE MINISTRY OF

Steve & Sharon Hawkins

Steve & Sharon Hawkins

Steve and Sharon Hawkins have been serving in Ukarumpa, Papua New Guinea (PNG) since July 2017. After 22 years of teaching, Steve took a sabbatical in 2006-07, and he, Sharon, and their family went to Ukarumpa, where Steve taught at Ukarumpa International School (UIS), and Sharon worked in the on-center store that provides basic supplies for missionaries. After returning to the States, Steve finished his career in public education. Upon his retirement, he and Sharon returned to Ukarumpa, where he teaches at the high school and Sharon is a tutor at the grade school. UIS is an integral part of supporting Bible translation by providing an education for Wycliffe missionary kids, along with other missionary organizations and national students. PNG has over 830 languages and about 300 languages groups still have no Scripture in their heart language. By becoming a prayer and/or financial partner, you can be part of a team helping to bring the Word of God to those who have not yet heard.

Wycliffe Ministry Budget

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.

This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
