And that means how those translated Scriptures are shared is just as vital as the words written on the page. At Wycliffe Bible Translators, we believe that lives are transformed when people are equipped with practical ways to engage with God’s Word.
Serve the local church by using your skills in the arts, media and literacy to partner with communities as they address issues of injustice and trauma, strengthen education and literacy and integrate the Scriptures into their daily lives and cultures.
Vernacular media assists every domain. It can help translation, literacy, Scripture engagement, linguistics and more. It's very exciting! … For example, when translators hear recorded Scripture, they might realize the words don’t sound as clear or natural as they intended, and they can refine the translation.
Hands On Work in Local Communities
Come make an impact as a:
- Literacy specialist: Coordinate literacy training and open doors to education and Scripture engagement.
- Scripture engagement specialist: Work alongside translation teams to help communities and churches learn how to engage, use and integrate God’s Word into their lives and cultures.
- EthnoArts specialist: Empower communities to use their cultural art forms to develop Scripture-based content.
- Vernacular media consultant: Facilitate and create culturally appropriate media options in local languages.
