Leslie Foster has been working in the Asia-Pacific area for more than 25 years. Some of her activities include teaching pre-field language and culture learning courses and seminars, coaching people who have started their field language learning assignments, and developing resources for both students and teachers. She considers it to be exciting and challenging helping people to live and work in additional cultures and learn new languages. As part of her New Zealand Wycliffe role, she helps their members and applicants to assess their training needs to effectively carry out their assignments.

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.
This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
