THE WYCLIFFE MINISTRY OF

Chris Boyum

Chris Boyum

“For the Word of God is living and active” (Hebrews 4:12)

Since second grade, Chris has wanted to be a Bible translator – someone who assists native speakers from the world’s 1,300+ Bibleless people groups to translate God’s Word into the languages that they clearly understand.

But how do you make a clear translation without following a language’s grammar rules? How do you understand the grammar rules if there’s nothing written about them? And how do you write a language that has no alphabet or spelling standards? Even someone translating the Bible into their own language will have difficulties in these areas.

As a linguist, Chris has the privilege of coming alongside local churches who desire to see God’s Word living and active in their languages, speaking powerfully to every man, woman, and child. She helps translation teams figure out the grammar rules of their languages and create alphabets and spelling rules, so that they can translate the Bible in a way that is accurate, clear, and natural.

But she can’t do this alone. The heartbeat of Bible translation is the global church partnering for the gospel! Would you prayerfully consider making the men, women, and children of these local churches part of your own ministry for Christ by partnering with Chris in her Wycliffe ministry?

Wycliffe Ministry Budget

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.

This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.

Help share God's Word today!
