THE WYCLIFFE MINISTRY OF

Ed and Melissa Swanson

Ed and Melissa Swanson

Ed and Melissa Swanson have supported Bible translation with Wycliffe for over 35 years. They began in Colombia, South America, serving in a number of support roles at the mission school, aviation department and in the publications department. After that, they served for several years in the U.S. as co-directors of a Wycliffe sponsored camp ministry designed to grow missionary vision. They returned to the field in 2011 to help maintain and administrate the workings of the Translation and Study Center in Oaxaca, Mexico. In 2020, they relocated to the U.S. to be closer to family while continuing to serve the Mexico Branch. Ed continues to coordinate work projects, which includes hosting church groups that come to Mexico short-term to do a work project. Melissa recently changed from her role as the Facilities Director in Mexico to a graphic design role under the supervision of Wycliffe in the USA. Her work involves creating useful templates that other missionaries can use to communicate about their work with Wycliffe. Most of the year they are working from Wisconsin, but Ed plans to travel to Mexico periodically. Melissa might tag along. Please consider becoming a prayer or financial partner in the Swanson's Wycliffe ministry as they serve.

Wycliffe Ministry Budget

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.

This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
