Ed and Melissa Swanson have supported Bible translation with Wycliffe for over 25 years. They began in Colombia, South America, serving in a number of support roles at the mission school, aviation department and in the publications department. After that, they served several years in the U.S. as co-directors of a Wycliffe sponsored camp ministry designed to grow missionary vision among young people. Today they are serving in Oaxaca, Mexico, at the Mitla Linguistics and Study Center. Ed oversees maintenance and security at the Center while Melissa assists with literacy workshops and proofreads literacy materials for dozens of language programs. Prayer and financial partners in their Wycliffe ministry sustain them in each of these roles.

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.
This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
