THE WYCLIFFE MINISTRY OF

John Eppele

John Eppele

John’s call began as a teenager by seeing the impact of Wycliffe's ministry on lives in a remote village in Papua New Guinea. He joined Wycliffe in 1998 as a language surveyor, serving in various countries of South and Southeast Asia. For the past 10 years John has been a senior leader, guiding survey work for Asia and internationally.

Language survey is research and community engagement to assess needs for Bible translation and language development. Nearly 7,400 languages are spoken today, yet 980 of those still require assessment of those needs. Survey also informs the ways projects can be done most effectively, ensuring that they may be used by as many as possible.

God brought John and Katherine together in marriage in 2017, joined by their son Charles in 2019. They are based in San Antonio, Texas, as John serves remotely in these leadership roles and travels often.

Thank you for prayerfully considering whether God may lead you to partner with John's Wycliffe ministry.

Wycliffe Ministry Budget

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.

This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
