THE WYCLIFFE MINISTRY OF

Aaron & Joanna Choate

Aaron & Joanna Choate

The Choate family currently serves the Lavukal people of the Solomon Islands through Bible translation and language development.

Aaron and the team of Lavukal translators collaborate on the translation via a remote assignment, basing the Choate family in Arkansas while Aaron continues his role on the Lavukal team. Zoom links have helped the team to continue making good progress on the translation. In addition, the two full-time translation students have been busy with studies, with two more trainees doing well in their village based mentorships.

While connecting with the team remotely has been a blessing, it is less than ideal for some things. Therefore, Aaron occasionally travels back to Solomon Islands to encourage Solomon Islands colleagues, facilitate training events, or address project needs that cannot be managed remotely. In April 2025, such a trip culminated with the completion of a team review of Matthew's gospel!

We thank God for the ways he has blessed the remote assignment so far. The family is praying that God will bring more workers into His harvest, and particularly praying for new financial partners for this ministry.

Wycliffe Ministry Budget

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.

This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
