Alec and Tammy Harrison joined Wycliffe in 1985.
For many years their primary assignment was Bible translation among the Xavante people of Brazil, where the NT was completed in 2005.
Alec is currently facilitating the team of the Xavante mother-tongue translators, who are both revising the NT and translating portions of the OT. He also functions as the Language Services Coordinator for Brazil and all of the Americas. He oversees all the kinds of services needed for Bible translation projects to be carried out successfully, including training of mother-tongue translators, making sure that the needs for checking of translated Scripture portions are being met across the Americas, as well as the promotion of Scripture use for the minority language communities that have received portions of God’s Word.

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.
This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
