The Bryants first went to Ethiopia in 1994 and for their first 9 years lived with the Suri people in the Southwestern part of the country. They learned the Suri language, and together with the Suri community, developed their alphabet and started translation. Throughout the last 25 years, they have been involved in many aspects of Bible translation ministry in Ethiopia. Mike continues to work with the Suri translation team mentoring four Suri young men as they translate God's Word into their heart language. He also serves as a part-time Field Project Manager for another Wycliffe organization known as The Seed Company, where he assists several Ethiopian translation partners with their projects.
Andrea completed her term as the Director of SIL Ethiopia in April 2019 and now the Bryants live in Vanuatu where Andrea serves as the Director for SIL Vanuatu. Vanuatu is a nation comprised of 83 islands in the South Pacific where over 60 languages still need a Bible translation to be started. While living in Vanuatu, Mike continues to work with the Suri Translation team over the internet as they finish the Suri NT. He also assists several Ethiopian translation partners with their projects which are done in partnership with The Seed Company.

Wycliffe Ministry Budget
Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.
This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
