THE WYCLIFFE MINISTRY OF

Chuck & Carole Fennig

Chuck & Carole Fennig

Chuck and Carole have been in Wycliffe for about 40 years. They started out in linguistic and translation-related work in New Caledonia, in the S. Pacific, assisting local people doing Bible translation into their own languages. Once back in the U.S., they provided assistance from the Dallas Center for people who are involved in the world-wide Bible translation task. Chuck served as the compiler and managing editor of the French-English Glossary of Linguistic Terms. He also handled the finances for the funding of translated Bibles, New Testaments, Scripture portions, and academic publications. Carole was the coordinator of the French Translator's Notes project, leading a team of people who are developing key resource materials for Bible translators in French-speaking countries. She later served as a Career Guidance and Team Development Advisor, helping members come to appreciate who God has made them and discover how He can use them as they seek to serve Him effectively in the ministry of Bible translation.
Chuck is now the managing editor of the Ethnologue, which is a database of the over 7000 languages of the world. He is responsible for overseeing the information which is submitted. The Ethnologue provides information that is used by many mission agencies in developing strategies for outreach to language communities around the world. It is also highly regarded in the academic community for its broad wealth of data on many otherwise little known languages of the world. (See it yourself at www.ethnologue.com)
Carole is a Coaching and Team Development Specialist. She really enjoys coaching people and teams so they can get to know themselves and others better, encouraging them in addressing issues that will allow them to serve God more effectively and productively in whatever part they play in the ministry of Bible translation.

Wycliffe Ministry Budget

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.

This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
