Dave and Karen have been members of Wycliffe since 1988. They did language and translation work in Côte d'Ivoire, West Africa until a civil war broke out in 2002, resulting in their return to the US. There, they took up different roles with Wycliffe while their children went through school.
In March 2016, Dave and Karen relocated to Yaoundé, Cameroon, where Karen is based as a counselor.
In this role, alongside a small team, Karen provides care to mission staff and their families, and also trains people to bring the principles of trauma healing to suffering communities around the world.
Dave is currently serving as the Special Projects Coordinator for the Francophone Africa Area of SIL. In this capacity he works with the Area leadership team and others to facilitate training of personnel, and with a variety of local and regional partners to promote engagement with translated Scriptures.
They'd love to hear from you--send them a note (links to the left)! Please also consider how you might be involved in reaching ALL the people of the world with Scripture in their own languages!

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.
This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
