Chumley and Connie have a heart for God’s Word. They were challenged in the 80’s to support the work of Bible Translation by joining Wycliffe Bible Translators in 1983. They have used their skills as teachers in various ways over the years, first in Papua New Guinea and most recently in Chiang Mai, Thailand where they helped launch Grace International School, which serves missionary kids.
The Lord is now sending them to Dallas, TX to serve at the International Linguistic Center (ILC) The skills they have honed over the years will be valued and utilized. Connie will be working with International students coming for training, many of whom will become Bible translators. She will be a mentor, a listener and a resource person. Chumley’s skill-set is well suited to assist in the Operations department at ILC, facilitating new and ongoing projects.
As Chumley and Connie work at the ILC, they will be assisting the next generation of Bible translators get the training they need. Please prayerfully consider investing in Bible translation by becoming a prayer and financial partner in their Wycliffe ministry. Thank you.
Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.
This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
