Following twelve years of service to the Lakota Bible translation project in South Dakota, and, more recently, a combined total of ten years of service in translation and literacy for a minority language in Southeast Asia, Jack and Brenda have returned to the United States and have entered Retired Status with Wycliffe Bible Translators. A new SIL team will continue the work to bring the New Testament translation to completion for the speakers of this language. As retired volunteers Jack and Brenda will remotely provide assistance when needed for this translation and literacy project. They would appreciate your prayers as they adjust to this new stage of life. Should anyone wish to contribute, gifts to Wycliffe Bible Translators may be noted as “Preferenced for the Wycliffe retirement pension of Jack & Brenda Rushing.”
Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.
This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
