THE WYCLIFFE MINISTRY OF

Harold & Caryle

Harold & Caryle

Harold and Caryle have served in Wycliffe since 1974, initially as singles. Harold served in Sudan with JAARS as pilot while Caryle was serving in southern Mexico on Jungle Camp staff, training new missionaries in survival skills before they departed for their field assignments.

They then met and were married in 1982 and departed for Indonesia in 1984, with Harold again serving as pilot and Caryle in the finance and administration office.

In 1993 visas became difficult to obtain, so their Area Director requested they change assignments to serve in Thailand where they served for four years.

In 1999 they joined the Wycliffe Seed Company and have served with a focus on a sensitive area of Asia, where they also lived for 7 years, until they had to leave the country due to security clamp downs. They continue to oversee the translation projects in this sensitive country, encouraging the Nationals in their translation work in numerous languages. In their roles as Field Project Managers they serve as the intermediaries between the translation teams in that country and the Seed Company.

Isaiah 55:11 ”It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.”

Wycliffe Ministry Budget

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.

This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
