After years of working in French-speaking Africa and then teaching in a Wycliffe training program, Bonnie is currently working as an instructional design consultant. She assists instructors and training programs around the world as they seek to improve their training and leads a small team of online course developers and training platform administrators. Sometimes, Bonnie and her team are asked to help develop new courses to better prepare people for the current paradigms of Bible translation and language development work. Other times, their work includes coming alongside instructors who are transferring their courses from face-to-face to online, in order to better serve colleagues who find that finances and family and work responsibilities impede travel to training locations. In the next year, Bonnie's team will be implementing a brand-new online training platform (replacing the 6 existing training platforms) which will make it easier for missionaries and other Kingdom workers to find relevant training. Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.
This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
