THE WYCLIFFE MINISTRY OF

Karl Anderson

Karl Anderson

"10% of the Christian world [English-speaking] has 90% of the Christian resources, and the other 90% have 10%." Karl heard that statement in 1986 when he became a Christian, and it stayed with him—who would leave the safety of home and go search for the lost sheep?
In 1997, God used that conviction to call him to Wycliffe. Though trained as a Bible translator, Karl quickly saw that people didn’t even know where translation was most needed. Where were the lost sheep? He pivoted to language assessment—essentially becoming a full-time "sheep-seeker"—and has been doing that since 2001.
Karl has helped discover and document new language groups—communities that now, for the first time, have access to Bible translation. After four years based in the U.S. and traveling to Asia, Karl senses God is leading him to return full-time to Southeast Asia in 2026. This next phase of ministry includes training a younger generation to continue seeking the lost, unreached, and Bibleless.
Thank you for praying about how you might partner with Karl in this mission. Your support helps make God’s Word accessible to those who have waited for generations to hear it in their heart language.

Wycliffe Ministry Budget

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.

This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
