After N & N earned their master’s degrees in linguistics and exegesis, they got married and moved to South Asia, where they now serve in a linguistic and translation role with Wycliffe Bible Translators. The country where they are serving has well over 100 languages, around 30 of which have no portion of Scripture yet translated.
N & N work alongside translation teams from three of these languages on a weekly basis as they translate the book of Luke into their own languages. They help the teams understand the week’s text; they provide suggestions to help improve the drafts; and they sit with the teams to discuss these suggestions to help ensure that the translation is accurate, clear, and natural. They also help teach Bible translation principles to various teams in South Asia at workshops throughout the year.
Although the work can be challenging – especially as it is all conducted in the national language – N & N love being part of this exciting work that God is doing in South Asia. They invite you to join them by partnering with their Wycliffe ministry through your prayers and financial giving.
Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.
This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
