THE WYCLIFFE MINISTRY OF

Pat Devine

Pat Devine

Everyone deserves the right to have the Bible in their own language! That belief took Pat to Togo, West Africa where she helped the Ifè people translate the New Testament and learn to read and write. Her communication skills grew as she trained the Ifè team members. That team is now working independently on Old Testament translation and literacy promotion in the Ifè language.

Pat's focus has shifted to supporting the overall work in Togo, Benin and 6 other countries in West Africa. As Special Assistant to the Director in Togo, she uses her facility with words to proofread documents and approve PR materials. She also writes 2 prayer bulletins for the work in West Africa. Her supervisor said of her new focus, “Pat is playing an essential role … [by] providing the content check and editing that only someone with her experience and technical abilities could.” Her support of the staff and projects in these 6 countries is helping to advance Bible translation, literacy and language development in West Africa.

Please consider investing in Bible translation by becoming a prayer and financial partner in my Wycliffe ministry.

Wycliffe Ministry Budget

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.

This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
