Through his leadership development role in the Wycliffe Global Alliance, Todd and Karla have the opportunity to participate in the lives of leaders all over the world, like Florence from Kenya (a creative communicator), Ruben from Romania (a young visionary), David from Colombia (a leader in the Latin American mission movement), and Simon from Singapore (who oversees Wycliffe’s ministry in the Asia/Pacific region). Through these relationships, Todd and Karla have learned the value of “inefficient lingering”, spending unstructured time together with younger leaders that provides opportunity for significant conversations to happen.
In Africa, where the Poulters spent the first 12 years of their ministry with Wycliffe, they have recently been part of the Africa Leadership Community. This group of 16 leaders from across Africa has been exploring how to lead in ways that are authentically biblical and authentically African, and enable them to meet the demands of leading in their various African contexts.
They love being part of their local church in Hawaii where the pastoral team are the age of their own sons. There are plenty of younger men and women and families in the church to befriend, including the first missionaries that the church sent out recently.

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.
This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
