Rachel Ellison joined Wycliffe in August, 2019, and she has been working in Nigeria since June, 2021. In the summer of 2017, she did an internship with Wycliffe in Nigeria. During her internship, she became aware of the great need for Bible translation there, as there are about 240 Nigerian languages still waiting for a translation project to begin. Rachel is passionate for people to be able to read God’s Word in the language of their heart so that God will be worshiped by people from every tribe, tongue, and language.
Rachel is working as the linguistic advisor for Koro Miyã, a dialect of Koro Waci [bqv]. She enjoys helping the Miyã community with orthography development and linguistic analysis so that their translation of God's Word is readable, clear, natural, and accurate.
Please prayerfully consider investing in Bible translation by becoming a prayer and financial partner in her Wycliffe ministry.

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.
This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
